MIS Quarterly, 2013, Volume 37,
Issue 2, Page iii-vii.
The author reflects on commonalities across intradisciplinary and multidisciplinary aspects of information science (IS) research. He talks about the role of observation and interpretation in grounded theory research which was developed to compensate for positivism found in much of social research. He examines mixed-method integration in IS research and comments on the development, testing, and validation of proof-of-concept and proof-of-value in design science, economics of IS and behavioral IS.
